Grilled Rainbow Trout with Sambal


  • 2 rainbow trout fillets

  • 3 tablespoons sambal oelek (chili paste)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

  • Lime wedges for serving


   1. Prepare the Marinade:

  • In a bowl, combine sambal oelek, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Mix well

   2. Marinate the Trout:

  • Coat the trout fillets with the marinade and let them sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

   3. Grill the Trout:

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grate with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

  • Grill the marinated trout fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char.


   4. Serve:

  • Transfer the grilled trout to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
