Shrimp sizes for different recipes!

Did you know that different shrimp sizes goes well with different dishes?

Medium shrimps are often served to be part of the larger dish as they are too small for a satisfying bite. While, large shrimps are sweet-tasting, with a satisfying crunch. Get ready to learn these simple recipes that will take you only 20 minutes or less!

Recipe 1: Garlic Butter Shrimp (Suitable for medium shrimps)

Total time: 20min, 4 servings

Garlic butter shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock
  • Juice of 1 lemon, or more, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Directions:

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pan over medium high heat. Add shrimp, and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until pink, about 2-3 minutes; set aside.
  2. Add garlic to the skillet, and cook, stirring frequently about 1 minute, until aromatic. Stir in chicken stock and lemon juice. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until reduced by half, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in remaining 6 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in shrimp and gently toss to combine.
  4. Garnished with parsley leaves and you are ready to serve!

 

Recipe 2: Simplest Grilled Shrimp (Suitable for large shrimps)

Total time: 20min, 4 servings

Grilled shrimp-1

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  •  Salt and pepper
  •  Olive oil

Directions:

  1. Build a medium-high fire in a charcoal or gas grill, making sure that the grate is clean and clear of debris. (Shrimp will stick to a dirty grate.)
  2. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, if desired. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the shrimp. Rub them lightly with olive oil, and place the shrimp on the grill directly over the heat. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until lightly golden.
  3. Flip the skewers and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Take care not to overcook. Remove to a plate. A squeeze of lemon over the shrimp would be delicious!
